About Me
I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Physical Anthropology from the University of Pennsylvania, and a Master of Science in Physical Therapy from Arcadia University (formerly Beaver College) in Glenside, Pennsylvania. I have practiced physical therapy in environments that include hospital intensive care units, rehabilitation units, schools, residential settings for head-injured individuals, and homecare. I have experience working with people of all ages, from preemies in neonatal intensive care to centenarians. Most recently, I have studied extensively under John F. Barnes, PT, the developer of the modern Myofascial Release approach. I was on the staff of the Myofascial Release Treatment Center for over two years. I have also completed training with leading practitioners and developers of other powerful forms of manual treatment. These include Positional Release, Total Motion Release, and Craniosacral Therapy.
I have been a resident of the Wayne area for over 26 years. I'm married to Jane Tarnoff Malyn, MA, RD, owner of Nutrition Works. We have two grown daughters who have left the nest to pursue their own careers. We live with Kaila and Bogart, our two Samoyeds, who are frequently found creating a scene wherever they go. I love to travel and I'm passionate about kayaking, biking, hiking and climbing, Mexican food and sushi!
I credit Myofascial Release with helping me to overcome serious chronic pain that had threatened my ability to continue practicing physical therapy. My own experiences with chronic pain and the relief I have gained through Myofascial Release have made me an ardent proponent of these uniquely effective therapeutic approaches.
