About Us: The history of WOLF reads like a classic American success Story. Founded in 1843, Adam Wolf started his enterprise with one store selling lumber and a few dry goods on the banks of the Susquehanna River in rural Pennsylvania.

Riding the wave of American prosperity, tempered with the frugality of the era and mixed with a healthy portion of good old-fashioned business sense, Wolf soon developed his business into a family heirloom, passing it from generation to generation.

Each family member, applying the new advances of the day, strengthened and grew the business into a hallmark of innovation and service in the building materials industry. That innovation allowed one store to mature into a multi-million dollar enterprise with markets stretching from Maine to Florida.

Today, the business rests in the hands of a select team of employee-owners, Wolf family members and investment partner, Westin Presidio. Honesty and customer satisfaction, continue to be the cornerstone of the business, contributing to WOLF’s status as one of the East Coast’s premier distributors of quality building products.
